Only No. 3 Mountain Iron-Buhl stands between top-seeded Littlefork-Big Falls and its second straight state appearance
A lot has changed since Aug. 29, except Littlefork-Big Falls’ winning ways.
Since beating Mountain Iron-Buhl 40-7 in the opening game of the 2008 season, the Vikings (10-0) have piled up nine wins and left a path of destruction along the way.
“Running time” has become a concept of when, not if, and the two-time defending St. Louis County North champions sit just one win away from back-to-back state tournament appearances.
In his fourth season as Littlefork-Big Falls head football coach, Derek Bilben has compiled a 37-7 overall record (.841) heading into tonight’s Section 7 Nine-Man contest at home against Mountain Iron-Buhl. Bilben is 28-4 in the regular season, 9-2 in sections and 0-1 at state. His teams have scored 1,433 points and allowed just 415, or an average score of 32.6-9.4.

Oberstar knows northern Minnesota and the struggle it takes to become economically healthy. And, he’s used his clout as chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to get us, and the rest of Minnesota, what it needs.
