O-PUN Season

It has always been amazing to me how much we seem to enjoy being around those who know so much less then we do that we want to be the first to correct them with our wit. It occurred to me that we can seldom even know what the intentions of the "nit-wit" were, so it would be risky to venture into his darkness and make much comment. As an example, I thought some "O-PUN" season might be in order, as it is open season, you know! The following is in order...!

Staff with Voyageurs National Park Saturday began removing hazard markers and regulatory buoys.
In addition, VNP staff remind hunters that hunting and trapping of any type or manner are prohibited on national park lands and all waters within the boundary of the park. Volleyball: Vikings suffer tough loss to Golden Eagles

Coming off a third straight championship in the Bigfork Tournament, the Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings suffered one of its most disappointing defeats of the fall in a 3-2 loss Monday at Tower Soudan.
L-BF erased a 2-0 deficit, but lost in five games (25-13, 25-19, 9-25, 18-25, 15-7).
After losing the Northern Lakes Conference championship on Thursday to Nashwauk-Keewatin, the Vikings rebounded with three victories Saturday to grab the Bigfork Tournament title.

Better ways to stimulate economy

To the editor,
Does it really matter where our so called enemies are from? It is all based on lies anyway. Why should we believe anything we are told about enemies being from the Middle East or anywhere else when we are told nothing but lies to justify war anywhere so far? The basic problem seems to me to be war itself and the propaganda that goes with it. War has always been a means to bolster failing economies world wide.
