“Cormorants are a really hot topic right now,” said Windels. “This study will allow us and other agencies to make management decisions based on the best scientific evidence available.”

Timmer did nothing wrong on service

To the editor,
I’m writing this in defense of Shelly Timmer.
Over the past couple of months I've seen the deputy chief (of the Littlefork Ambulance Service) tear Shelly apart because she had made a complaint against him about taking call time from the Falls. I have witnessed many phone calls from the deputy chief threatening her to watch her back or else.

Looking Back

Paul Severson and Lynn Naeckel recently were awarded a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council.
A Beanie Baby crackdown has been ordered. Custom agents have been directed to seize the small, stuffed toys, locking them up and, in some cases, destroying them, because of a trademark regulation that allows Americans to bring only one Beanie Baby across the border every 30 days.

The children of Ed and Garnet Ames invite you to an open house in honor of their parents’ 40th wedding anniversary June 25 at the home of Ed Ames starting at 2 p.m.
