I have always thought that the convuluted mix of responsibility between our city government and county government, especially with regards to the "unequitable" mix of tax responsibility, was awkward, at best, and unfair to the taxpayers inside the city limits. I think it is time to at least think
about the distinct separation of city functions and county functions.

Falls family donates teddy bears to orphan children’s choir

Becky Nelson and her son Cainaan wanted to do something special after learning about an African children’s choir that came to the United States last month.
The choir began a national summer tour to raise money to complete the Glory Children City Project, an orphanage and school in Masaka, Uganda, and will be in Minnesota this August.

International Falls will move forward with adding advance life support to the city’s ambulance service.
A task force Monday reported to the council that a clear need for ALS to be added to the service has been documented through a study.
The council struggled with a motion that would accept the recommendation of the task force to move forward with developing details for policies and procedures that would also address funding concerns.

Falls High Broncos golf coach Bill Mason will be in new territory on Thursday. For the first time in his 14 years as head coach, Mason will have a boy and a girl participating in the State Golf Meet.
Senior Maria Porter and junior Travis Phillipe have both qualified for the State Golf Meet and will hit compete at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan on Thursday.
“It’s a testament that we have a good golf program here,” Mason said. “The kids are good players and they take pride in being good golfers.”

It is where my wife Isabelle discovered her great love of flowers and where she catered to their every need. Some of you readers may have received a letter from the National Resources Defense Council requesting contributions to the Polar Bear S.O.S. campaign to save the polar bear which is suffering from the effects of global warming and melting the ice in the Arctic.
Under the Endangered Species Act the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is now considering a proposal to protect the polar bear. The White House was forced by law and legal action by the NRDC and other environmental organizations to propose protection for the bear.
