Paul MacDonald Shaw passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008.
Born Jan. 13, 1926, to Robert and Lillian Shaw in Henning, Minn., Paul was raised from early childhood in International Falls with his four brothers and sisters.
After an early graduation from high school, Paul joined the navy in 1943 and served until his discharge in 1946, when he returned to the University of Minnesota to attend law school, graduating in 1949.
He was married to Beverly McCord in 1949. The couple moved to Deer River in 1950 where Paul set up his law practice, which he maintained for the next 54 years.

Richard Willis Titus, of International Falls, Minn., died at his home on Friday, July 25, 2008. He was 86 years of age.
Richard was born Aug. 25, 1921, in International Falls, Minn., and was a lifelong resident of the Falls.
He was united in marriage to Genevieve (Erickson) Titus-Handley for 35 years and was a devoted friend and companion of Elizabeth (Betty) Ericson for over 30 years.
Richard worked for Boise Cascade as a machine tender for over 42 years.

Broncos basketball finishes summer with MIT

The Falls High Broncos boys’ basketball team competed in its final event of the summer this past weekend at the Pacesetter MIT in St. Cloud.
The tournament format placed 44 teams in four divisions with 11 teams in each division. The tournament was a mix of all four classes in the state of Minnesota. The state currently has four divisions, A, AA, AAA and AAAA. The Broncos currently compete in the AA division. Teams from South Dakota and North Dakota also participated.
