Beautiful day for RRCC graduation, By TOM LAVENTURE, Staff Writer

Ninety-four people graduated from Rainy River Community College Friday, with commencement shared with families and friends, and including speakers and music.
There were 21 graduates receiving advanced degrees and one student with multiple degrees. The average age of the graduates was 25 and nearly a quarter of the class, 23, were students of color. Fifteen of the graduates earned an associates degree while still in high school.


94 to graduate from RRCC

Rainy River Community College will celebrate its 41st annual commencement at 2 p.m. May 9 in the college gymnasium.
The ceremony and a reception following the ceremony are open to the public.
Degrees or certificates will be awarded to 94 graduates. Of the 94 graduates, 26 are male and 68 are female. One student will be receiving more than one degree and one team of husband and wife will graduate.

County board supports industrial technology program

The creators of an industrial technology program at Rainy River Community College are considering ways to expand the program.
The program, which is a partnership between the college and Boise Cascade, began in the fall with 22 students.
Boise is now seeking area companies where the students can work in an internship this summer, Tony Jaksa, of Boise’s maintenance department, told the Koochiching County Board Tuesday.
