Filed under:

No votes yet

Why won't Clinton give up the ship when the Democratic party is now saying her campain is hopeless and potentially hamful to the Democratic party?

Those who insist on crossing their fingers and voting for Hillary in 2008 obviously harbor a desire to maitain a dynastic line of succession by continuing the patern of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. Perhaps we need to enact a constitutional amendment that limits the highest office to the chaotic oligarchy. After all, why take a chance with bold, sweeping [CHANGE], when we can settle for the warmth and security of the same old comfortable train wreck? We could save billions by eliminating endless campaigns, redundant debates and the rediculous voting contest that we conduct every four years. This nonstop 24/7 election cycle merry-go-round is making the nation nauseous. Hillary will reign until 2017 when, assuming we survive, Jeb Bush will take the helm. Old man Jeb can turn it over to Chelsea Clinton in 2025, and by 2033, we'll need to choose from a slew of rising Bushes. Ideally, both clans serving together while alternating the Vice-President's slot would be most efficient. In the event of a lineage gap, we can revert to the old method, but certainly there will be no shortage of aspirants. The amount of time and money spared would be enormous, and in fairness, the GOP and the Dems can take turns being happy and arrogant, or angry and bitter. The only danger to this system would be if a Bush and Clinton were to ever marry. This apocalyptic union may produce offspring who could create the advent of a major third party. In regard to that possibility, I propose that we keep the chain alive.

Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton,

If a Latin American country were run by the same two families for "TWENTY-EIGHT" years, we as a nation would have to send troops in to liberate them!

Hillary is now calling herself another Rocky Balboa.Where does she come up with this stuff? If she thinks this is what the American people need for the leader of our great country I think she's been hit in the head toooo many times.

Its not Hillary shooter, its Janet Reno. Janet Reno says Hillary "is da man". Who did you think was wearing the pants around here?? Hillary or Janet!! It'll be over in the Dem party in two weeks, with Hillary bowing out with a warning to "us all" because she was not the party candidate. Obama vs. that other democrat guy from Arizona.posing as a Republican. Maybe Pelosi, in the line of succession, might not be that bad in the "big office". That is if Rice or Dole won't run. What to do- What to do!!! At least we can all eat our turkey dinner in peace knowing that the last eight years are over, except for the interest we will all be paying, of course. Its my opinion that McCain is more of a democrat then Obama is and Obama sits more as an Independant or even a Socialist as the person he is and what he stands for. I predict that whomever wins this election will last only one term, or less.

My guy, the Algorerhythm, is the talk of New York media again after his appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday. Slimmed down a bit and beardless, he is sitting in the wings waiting for the deadlocked convention that many are predicting. Imagine a Gore/Obama ticket. I could get interested in that and feel that we would be wise to consider someone who is a bit of an internationalist after the bungling crew we are now seeing put in their miserable final months.

Anton, cheer up. We have seen a lot of ups and downs in our days. The coolest thing about America is that we have the option of changing our president every four years and our Congress every two.

Ms. Clinton is waiting for the "untimely demise" of someone in da way. This seems to have happened many, many times before, in and around, the Clinton camp. Timing, timing, timing . . . is alot like location, location, location. Do not be surprised (after the riots) if Hillary is "right there" at the correct moment, to help pull the nation together.

Mongo,

I think you have a very valid thought there! It seems that alot of people [around the Clintons] in the last 25 years, have suddenly ended up "having a very bad day" [if you know what I mean]. And the Clintons always come out of it, smelling like a rose! How convenient!! She will pull the Nation together, but President McCain will give the eulogy......

Anton1965-----You're right on the money with one term for the next president. There's an old saying-"talk is cheap, it takes money to buy whiskey." No matter who is in office as far as a canadate that is running - all it will be is cheap talk to get elected plus they'll get all the whiskey. A person can and should vote but the outcome doesn't even lie there. Like you said enjoy the turkey dinner. Sorry you're not feeling great and hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Cheer up Anton, Thursday...

Back to page top

Cheer up Anton, Thursday [the 3rd] is Food Stamp day, isn't it?? Six-shooter, you are "right on", the politicians all are full of BS!! They'll tell the "minority" voters anything, and promise them "freebies" all day long, just to get the vote, when in fact they and their money, could care less about the [minorities]. One big problem we have is that the Senators are elected for SIX years! That's way too long to put up with their BS! I think McCain will pick [if he is wise] Mitt Romney as his VP. Talk about a balanced ticket. But McCain will probably cave in to the "minority" BS and either pick a woman or a black!! Sure to lose then!!!!! But of course he could cover ALL bases and pick Condi Rice! Al Gore the 2x4?? Everyone please give it up. I have been watching the polls, and even the Dem's don't want him anywhere around. But, he could get the sympathy vote, and Obama, could bring in the minorities, who don't have a clue about what this election means, other than a few "promised" Guvment give-a-ways! I don't get the criticism of McCain, because he "reaches across the aisle". If he was a party line voter, they would say that he is afraid to "reach to the other side", you know, [they] the Demonrats!! So, come on you liberals, you can't have it both ways. And some of you GOP'ers are a bit confused on what you want. ALL I know is that GW Bush will be standing in front of Mt Rushmore next year, so that his protrait can be chiseled next to the other fine Presidents. Hopefully they will have room for Reagan AND GW!!!! I think Anton has a bad case of "Cabin Fever"!!!!

Back to page top

The greatest achievement of the Republican Era is that we now have incontrovertible proof that cutting taxes increases national debt, whether you enter a unilateral overseas war or not. For that, however, you don't get chiseled into stone any quicker that Herbert Hoover or Richard Nixon do. Bad presidents are like bad meals: you just want them to pass through the system as quickly as possible. Most of the bad presidents leave a bad aftertaste too. Jimmy Carter the major exception.

Hmmmmmm, I believe Jimmy Carter, left a sort of peanut butter taste!! I agree some bad Presidents leave a bad taste, and then others leave dead Presidents behind them and a Vietnam war to clean up. And a recent bad President may have left a stain or two on a dress, [and maybe a bad aftertaste]. Don't ask Hillera though, she wouldn't know!! I still think a war now and then is good for the economy. That's right, end the Bush tax cuts, bring back the death penalty tax, and let's raise the capital gains tax while we are at it. More money for the pooooor. But, Obama will end the war, and re-distribute the savings to all of those pooooooor minorities who were suckered into voting for him. But that is only if he serves a full term in Office.
