Hello,
I am a horse lover, and so is my almost step-daughter. We were wondering if anyone has horses that we could ride, or just visit. I grew up with horses and went to horse camps as a child. I would consider myself and excellent rider, on a scale of 1-10 I would be an 8. My almost step-daugher has gone to a couple horse camps and is great with horses. She knows how to brush, walk, ride, and clean hooves. We both would love to find a connection here. We are new to the northwoods.

There is a great horse camp in Big Falls. Call Carolyn at Pinewood Stables, 218-276-2340. My daughter has been going to horse camp there for years and loves it.

Speaking of camps, does anyone know of a camp for soccer? She also loves soccer and has played a lot. Are there any soccer programs for summer around here?

I. Falls doesn't have any soccer programs. But, Canada runs a soccer program in the summer and possibly fall...I'm not sure who to contact. Check with the Ft. Frances Times online or the FFHS athletic director. Good luck!! My dad played soccer on the Canadian side for years.

P.S. Is your step-daughter playing 5th/6th grade basketball? If you just recently moved to the area and she's a soccer player, I may know her...my dad may actually be her coach!

She has'nt move up with us yet, but she really wants to. So its in the works. She is going to be here most of the summer and then if all works out move here in the fall before school starts.
