Will new Boise owners want the Burner Road?
February 26, 2008 - 1:17pm — Citizen X
Surprise! Surprise! Boise sells again. Will the new owners want the city to forfeit the Burner Road in the name of public safety also? Was it part of the purchase agreement? Since the issue doesn't appear it will go away until Boise gets the property, maybe we (the city) could negotiate a land swap with the new owners. We give Boise Inc. the Burner Road, and in exchange they give us the city dock property back along with the rest of riverfront property used as a semi-trailer parking lot. Atleast the city would be getting something of real value in the deal. It would make a great boardwalk park connecting the downtown area to the new riverfront development and bike path. Then we could start working on an even bigger source of economic development, specifically, the Free Trade Zone.
