Drinking our way toward being alcoholics?

Filed under:

No votes yet

So now that people are hopefully recovered from the rigors of New Year's Eve, we enter into the post-resolution making, resolution-doing phase of life.
And that brings to mind the topic of underage drinking. There was a community forum about it last year at Backus. Most of those in attendance there were students, yet many of those that spoke said adults have the most influence over underage drinking.
Are the youth of International Falls part of the AFA — Anonymous Future Alcoholics?

I sure hope your wrong about the youth of International Falls becoming part of the AFA, however, your probably correct. It must be adults that are selling alcohol to minors or leaving it available to their children to use. Maybe a law like some of our gun laws would be effective. Any minor causing harm or causing harm to themselves by alcohol consumed that was not effectively locked and or secured would cause the parent or parents to be punished in a court. Of course if America's parents do not care about the future lives of our (their) children then I guess they don't care.

Sorry, I didn't realize they were newbees! Being the "fair and balanced" "right winger" I am, I will give them two weeks to read everything and get up to speed. How bout that, ya,all??

roj2000, no new years coma for me, sorry I have a life and don't sit on here everyday and read everything, i just didn't find anything else on here interesting at the time, i'm sure your really proud about being a "top dog" on here and knowing everything, I was not looking for a comment on how late I was to read about this topic but was actually looking for a comment that had something to do with this topic.

mgl11,

It sure is funny that you could be facetious and a smart butt on "supposedly" your first comment on here, but I get flogged for my comments. I admit I "push the envelope" with some of my comments, but just like in politics, I guess it's OK for one side of the spectrum, but not the other. But I can handle it. Then why didn't you ask why they weren't sticking to the point, rather than comment on their youth?? Back when I was young, the actions in the article may have been considered "fun", but in this politically correct and much smarter society, it is now considered "stupid".
