HA! Oh, this brings back memories. I remember coming to first period and half my class was bombed on weed laughing their holes off. People used to get stoned out in the parking lot in their cars in the morning and come to school to laugh and then get the munchies... I would just sit there, roll my eyes and think about what these people are going to do with the rest of their lives. Fortunately, most of them grew up and became really decent adults. ...but there are those few...

Oh, and also having children born with disabilities. It is so sad. That makes me so mad when a child is born with a disability that is caused by parents who are under the influence.

I agree with the meth problem. I'm not sure about it being in the high school, but there are a lot of people who are loosing their children because of it.

I don't have any direct knowledge of it anymore. I haven't lived there for 7 yrs. Most of the people I knew or know have left the area. I just know they need to have a lot more awareness about it. They need to more than just have a DARE program. I just don't believe they have the community involvement enough to make it a big issue. People there tend to be nieve into thinking, "Well my kids would never do that" but there wrong. Kids experiment with things because there is nothing else to do. Sure they have rainy lake and boundless outdoor things such as hiking, fishing, and so on. They should have some kind of waterpark there. Yeah sure they have the lake, but a waterpark near the lake would draw a lot of kids and adults to it. A perfect place would be the city beach area. Kids get bored, and with boredom they experiment with drugs and alcohol. I live in a city of 110,000 and yeah have drug problems here, but per capita they have far more activities for kids to keep them away from such things. They should actually hold local meetings somewhere like backus to discuss issues relating to this and how to avoid it.

I have one last thing whether it is irrelevant or not but it has to do with the people that drink in high school there. A lot of my friends never drank a drop and they turned out worse than the ones who did in high school. Many of them went off to college and the peer pressure to party is ten fold. Once they got a taste and realized what they missed, they try to make up for it. The difference with high school kids drinking and college kids is control. Sure kids got drunk in high school but college parties are much more into quantity. People drink literally till they pass out every time they go out. Something that has experienced this in high school nows more about limits and can control themself better. A lot of the hazing situations occur to kids who haven't drank much, if not any alcohol and therefore don't realize when to stop. This is just my opinion however.

Seems you have a lot of info on this subject and know what kids are doing..... how about telling someone and busting them or getting them help. Enforcement is the only way to deal with Meth. It is such a dependent addiction...it has to be stopped in it's track to do any good. If you do have direct knowledge of this type of activity.....you have to tell someone....NOW!!!!

I'm not sure about the rest of you but I can tell you from past experience and what I've seen that Ifalls kids are into far more things that most adults there realize.
