Who has expressed any hatred towards any person? Just because I disfavor changing policies and laws to enforce the point of view of a minority of people trying to force their beliefs on others that makes me hateful? Try again and prove that my viewpoints are hateful.

Yes Jane, I agree they should enjoy the same rights as everyone else. Therefore they should be able to buy insurance from companies that want to sell them insurance. They can be married by Pastors who agree to perform their ceremonies, and go to the churches that support their choices. They should not however be allowed to "force" churches to accept their viewpoints. They should not be allowed to force anyone, or any company to change their policies towards this group of people. I suggest this then to be "fair", let them set up thier own companies, and churches. Let them create their own society, in fact in most places they do just that. I agree that they can enjoy the freedoms afforded by living in these United States, I just don't think they should force policy on those who disagree with thier viewpoints, as they do in Europe, Canada, and other places on the globe.

#1) There’ll be two chickens in every pot.
#2) I’ll eliminate taxes by printing more money.
#3) No citizens will have to work, Mexico, China, and India will do it for us.

#5) Everyone will be given homes with illegal immigrant servants to order around.
#6) To find land for free housing, I’ll carve up The National Forests and use old forest lumber. The three million convicted convicts of will do all of the work.
#7) All OSHA and Public Safety Regulations will be suspended as was applied to convict labor.
#8) I will retire parole boards, increase mandatory sentencing and put all those sodomites on prison trains to replace convicts killed in construction accidents.

#10) I will declare war on Nigeria if they fail to use internet scams to pay for the new U.N. Complex.

#12) The Bureau of Printing and Engraving shall grow until it’s the largest government employer on the face of the earth. (Only baby boomers within one year of retirement may work there).
#13) To help reduce the surface population, I’ll abolish The Social Security system along with Medicare.

Lesley, I disagree with you regarding your statement about there being a differfence between a "Ruling God" and a "Loving God" To be exact, God is God, and is both a ruling God, and a loving God. If He wasn't we'd all be in a lot of trouble. If as you claim you went to Bible college you would know this. To state their is a difference shows that you must not have paid much attention in school. I hope you didn't spend much because I am sure you can't get a refund. Maybe you could take them to court since obviously they failed to teach you anything. Please don't take this wrong, I mean no disrespect, It just occurs to me your statement about God from a graduate of Bob Jones University makes me wonder how you could know so little about the nature of God :o)

leslyk, good to know that you have been personally involved in directly helping others. I meant no slight to you or anyone else. It seems to me that I did indeed answer the questions you posted earlier. Perhaps you find the explanation I gave unsuitable and therefore have rejected my position. In any case my experiences have been the norm., and not the exception. There are national statistics that bear this out. I do not mean to slight those who have stayed with a seriosly ill partner, but this seems to be the exception rather than the norm. BTW it tends to happen across sexual preference lines, most unfortunate for the terminally ill.

It's interesting how people on here go to personal attacks and pointing fingers when they can't directly answer any of the questions they've been asked. Maybe it's a computer virus of sorts?

I have been volunteering since I was 12 in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, church nursery programs, etc. Currently, I am involved on several boards within the community that help those in need. I would like to do more with helping people directly, but the right opportnity hasn't presented itself. Plus, after losing my position at Kootasca, I have had to take some time for myself. I loved my job and helping others. I have always made an effort make a difference in the community in which I live.

Sorry it took so long for me to do just that. My sources are the experiences of helping those in the lifestyle who have been ostrcized for being unfortune enough to "somehow" contract the scourge of HIV/AIDS. All of these persons had become indigent and disabled. What I didn't experience were atheists, or agnostics taking any time to care for, and help out in many of these places, nor at any of the natural disasters that I took the time to work at.

leslyK, it occurs to me that I have somehow neglected answering your post regarding the issues you stated. First helping 'those in need' The problems faced by those in need are complicated and difficult. The fact of few decent paying employment opportunities in this community as well as the wholesale abandonment of the workforce in the United States by the business community in favor of cheaper labor in foriegn countries really exacerbates this issue. The fact that public schools in our country rarely prepare students to compete in the worldwide job market compounds what already is a very serious situation. And finally the entitlement mentality of the average citizen coupled with ignorarance of how to fund such programs, and the outcry (rightly) over the amount of tax load these programs would incur complicates this matter even further. Then there are those who are the needy themselves. Having spent a long time working with these individuals, I know some of the personal issues these people face, from poor work skills, a failure to adequately prepare themselves to be part of a changing workforce to downright psychological problems that hinder long term employment. Literally this problem is a bottomless pit that won't be fixed in our children's, children's, lifetime unless there are great changes in the way we view education and worldwide business.
I completely agree with your point regarding the incomes of the gay and lesbian workforce, but disagree with your viewpoint regarding their ultimate financial security. I have visited group homes of homosexuals who have been infected with HIV, they are not able to work, and have been abandoned by their "partner" because they were unfortunate enough to contract this terrible disease. This is what usually happens to these unfortunates, and then they become the problem of the taxpayers. Now they are contracting drug resistant staph through their sexual practices. What will happen to them right now is uncertain, but my guess is that like those who have contracted HIV, they too will be ostraczed by their community.
This is just more food for thought, hope that you won't think me hateful, btw when was the last time you spent time helping some of the least of these?

Hi concerned: I used to be hesitant to mention anything religious in my posts, but am now convinced some folks will like it, some will hate it, some won't care either way so I just go ahead and "speak my mind". Also, just because one Supreme Court decided religion could not be taught in public schools (when God was "moved out", who do you think "moved in"?)....the famed but often mis-quoted "separation of church and state", which merely meant the government cannot, will not, and shall not dictate to the American people where they shall worship, NOT saying religion could not be taught in public schools. If the people from the 1600's up to the early 1900's new about the ruling to ban Scripture being taught in public schools, they would have rioted! But so far the ACLU and its cronies have not been able muffle free speech on line and every where else, for that matter. I know this subject opens a large can of worms, but discussion is healthy.

Klloyd; Interesting point you make re Daniel and Revelation of St. John. I too believe we are in or beginning to be in the last days. All of my interactions through these blogs confirm that to me (see 2 Timothy) I personally do a study through the book of Revelation that takes around 2 years to complete. I am willing to entertain working through the study with any and all willing. Just need to come ready to accept what the evidence suggests.

mwk1013: I agree that few-if any-candidates seem qualified to run the most powerful nation on earth...I think Condoleza Rice or Colin Powell would be great candidates given their state department and international knowledge. Sadly they don't want to run for POTUS, can't say I blame them. McCain has probably the longest running government time, but that does not necessarily make him qualified for the position--but I do think he would be a adequate to good President. Personally, I think someone has to be a little bit nuts to want to be President, especially walking into a war and a multitude of "situations" all over the globe and the possibility of a recession. But one also has to consider the incredibly huge ego's most of these people have-not necessarily a bad thing as long as its funneled into a positive force. My views towards "Barry" Obama have moderated somewhat, not believing he has real negative desires towards America, but if there is a candidate out there less qualified, please run it by me cuz I cannot think of one...and I just have a feeling of unease thinking of him running the USA, with his thumb on the nuclear trigger, it haunts me as much as Hilary in the same position, though I do believe she cares about this country but not in the same way, say, Ronald Reagan did...there probably isn't anyone running (except maybe for McCain and Ron Paul) who have exceptionally strong patriotic love for the US.
For those of us who do believe in a loving God, the best we can do is spend time on our knee's praying for His intervention to get "His man" into office...Democrat or Republican or Independent, I really don't care as long as he or she really does good for this country.
On a side note: I really believe we are at a cross-roads in American history, as earth-shaking as the Civil War and the World Wars in terms of life changing events. I tend to lean toward a spiritual view in looking at the world and current events and have a strong background in military and history. Two of the prophetic books in the Bible-Daniel and Revelation, both indicating we are in or at least approaching "end times"....for you Christians, especially Baptists perhaps, this is not news to you. But this is a subject that would take much more time for me to get into properly than I have time for...and, whew, this is much longer than I had intended!
