Hummel, son of Jim and Mary Hummel, International Falls, was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant.<br /> Hummel has been serving his country in the maintenance support services group of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit for the past six months in Kuwait, the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf where he supported tsunami disaster relief in Bangladesh.
