Dear Jane,

I will take the bold initiative on behalf of the other bloggers on here, and apologize for boring you and your sidekick!! I, for one, never thought this blog site was intended as a replacement for the City and County councils. You do have a valid point when it comes to complaining, without follow up with letters to Elected Officials, etc..... However, on here, much of the chatter, is intended to be a sort of conversation between the DJ Bloggers. Sort of a way to "vent", and discuss current events. So, what was it that got you on your soapbox? Was it the criticism of the "children's program"?? Or were you just as bored as us, and decided to lambast "Us Bloggers" for our trivial postings??

I peruse these blogs and typically choose not to say anything because I assumed I would get the responses like the ones above from the "good ole boys" who stagnate on here.

I see lots of talking and complaining and sometimes even whining. Unless you put those "discussions" in action, it really is nothing of substance (aka hot air). Schmitty, have you written any letters to our state reps or congressmen about the children's program you were complaining about? If not, you've proven my point for me.

It is late, I just got in and read the above wonderful posts from JaneinIF and Falls-Girl. I guess they just got back from Ellen Degenerate's wedding in California and needed something to help them sleep!! So, maybe they would like to tell me what kind of chat they would like to have?? Do we want to resort to the Servo/04 type rants? So what if we tend to digress and have a little fun? So much to tell these "Wonder Women", but not enough time tonight. Will continue in the AM. I totally agree wih JaneinIF. These same "guys" (and we could all cite who they are) spend endless hours "talking" about issues on this site - time that could be spent doing things to help people in need. They never talk about what they have done to help out in this world, just seem to be critical of what others are doing. And this is how they (according to TLJ) have fun? how pathetic is that ..

Sadly, this is what it comes to in the Falls. Going back and forth about snobbery. *sigh* You have too much time on your hands. Schmitty go read your Bible and TLJ go read your dictionary. OR better yet, how about both of you go adopt an elderly friend at the Care center OR volunteer to help at the Food Shelf, maybe the Salvation Army needs a volunteer to help with their youth outreach. In the grand scheme of things, what does this conversation amount to? Not much but fluff in my opinion. Why don't you both waste your time elsewhere helping those in need? I know it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but I think it's about time you both learned some new ones. Your old ones are both tiring and boring me.

Sometimes, and let me repeat that, sometimes people in their rush to become intelligent can become one. In that rush they develop a tiny flaw along the way without even realizing it. That would be the failure to realize they have left their God given "common sense" far behind. Something found in heart and soul, not in the mind.

Well, the dictionary is actually meant as a gift. You do remember that this whole wonderful exchange started with an online dictionary definition of snob.

By the way, what did/does it require to be a snob in International Falls? I remember a time when it meant being a Republican, living in Riverview, having a cabin on Dove Island . . . working on the paper machines or having a law practice. Man, it was hard to be a snob in the Falls. You could go to Bemidji and just feel it in the air. All we had in our air was the sulfite mill. Where did the snobs go out to eat? Where did they take vacations? What did they drive? Where did they go to church? to swim? So many questions; so few answers. One thing for sure, Anton65 was not a snob. Minnow guys rarely are. I never met any snobs in the woodroom either.

But up in International Falls, they'll only get 10 years for "attacking or threatening posts." Or even worse, getting off topic. Only a snob would bring that up, I guess. But I am on topic. My weapon of choice would be a dictionary in one hand and a thesaurus in the other and I'd be hurling insane invectives directed right at the heart of my opponents. And roj would be the one marrying the survivor.

Last night as I headed out for some peculiar reason I couldn't get the word "Snob" out of my "little head". It bothered me to the point I had to postpone heading out. Thinking about the word and it's meaning, I questioned myself on the possibility that my definition of the word could be wrong. Being of average intelligence unlike a snob, I was then forced to look up the definition just to see If my thinking was on track. Here's what I found.
