I too think it's great that we can even talk about girl's sports -- we from the era where only boys played basketball. And badly, by the way. Keep up the shameless promoting; it is a good thing.

Glad you're proud of the girls. Me, too. Don't ask. Don't tell. Don't question. Settle for good enough. Let the girls shoot at peach baskets and in long skirts. It's all the same to me now. Enjoy your summer!

Leaders of what?
I knew

Leaders of what?

I knew girls' basketball was low scoring, but if the scoring leader only scored 121 points and the 67 rebounds is the best, that is saying something. It sounds more to me that the ax to grind is more important than finding or explaining the facts. I am proud of the girls, they had a good year and finally got the playoff monkey off of their back, no amount of re-hashing the details or explaining is going to change the fact that the season is over. Sounds to me like it is time to move on.

Before coach Gilbert stated

Before coach Gilbert stated on the radio that he had no leadership and what poor players he had to work with, he should've checked out the stats. When all a coach sees is the negative side of everything, maybe it is his leadership we are lacking? What he fails to realize is that they are girls first and basketball players second. Basketball is what they do, not who they are. Get to know the girls first, give them kudos and their game will follow. These are your leaders. It might not be who you want it to be but it is what it is.

How did Heaven go 12 for 12

How did Heaven go 12 for 12 on the free throw line and make 13 points? That's an impossibility. Just keeping you on your toes, Jim! :-) (It is actually more annoying to me how her points got shaved and given to another player all season...film is a wonderful thing...but hey...I'm just a Mom who loves her kid...) Loved the picture--bought up all the papers! Ha ha! Anyways, the fat lady has sung!

The relatives in Arizona

The relatives in Arizona would love that, too! After she scored that many, she got totally repremanded (I know, right!?!) so we brought home an egg yesterday. (Can't say I blame her. Who gets in trouble for scoring?!? The boys get player of the week; go figure.) But, we did beat Virginia tonight 67-58!! (Shhhh. She made 20 in that one...) The Broncos played really well and you would've enjoyed it; they're really fun to watch.

studies showed that joining any varsity may help academic financial matters.Myron Rolle has put the NFL on hold to pursue his studies. Myron Rolle, a safety for the Florida Seminoles, has put his NFL prospects and instant money on hold to pursue academic studies, which would sound odd except for that he is a Rhodes Scholar. Rhodes Scholars are invited to study at Oxford University, from nations all over the world. It is the most prestigious scholarship a person can receive. A previous Rhodes Scholar exchanged his NFL career for studies – Byron White, who later became a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. He will pursue a degree in medicine, and enter the raft in 2010, so Myron Rolle is likely to never need debt relief.

Not to mention the fact that the road to a championship is only six games long in high school hockey. In basketball it can take almost six games just to get to the state tournament. Most kisd would be ahrd pressed to even get a sniff from a bigger school is basketball leaving hockey as the only way to "wealth and stardom".
