Jerry Jensen only deals with

Jerry Jensen only deals with city issues.
The county has had a public health nuisance committee for years. It has dealt with a number of items, including dropping beaver and deer carcasses along county roads, odor issues, etc.
As we understand it, the county is considering all its ordinances and wonder if an ordinance for nuisance items is needed to give the committee more legal standing.

"Board members inquired on

"Board members inquired on the status of the County’s Public Health Nuisance Committee as several nuisance items have been deferred to the committee and the Board is not aware of any resulting action to rectify the problems. The Environmental Service Director stated that the committee struggles somewhat as they need legal counsel to determine the plan of corrective action on almost every issue. Commissioner Briggs felt that the County Nuisance Ordinance is needed but is only as effective as the Committee that manages it."

Anyone know further details? I hope this isn't Jerry Jensen expanding his reign onto county residents! Please tell me I'm wrong...

Sometimes it is just confusing. I think most people don't know how the system works and the story may have seemed like the county wanted to paint murals on the walls, at one time they thought about doing that, but this is a standard wall repainting that is under, as you put it Roj, different parameters because it is a historical building and must be bidded out.I do like the payitforward name, as that the essence of caring for others.

Doorsman and Anton,

Both of you were "right on" with your comments!! Anyone with 1/2 of a brain, and any knowledge of doing professional contract work would understand what they wanted. Perhaps payitforward, can "sub out" to Bruce Trask, and help somehow with the Iltus painting. I live in the historic Charleston area and I know what "hoops" you have to jump through to work on historic buildings. Even a simple paint job becomes a hassle, when you have to get the board of architectual review to approve your bid. ANY type of work on an historic bldg, is not an easy task. So, I hope payitforward was just pulling our leg with his obtuse remarks. Otherwise, he should sober up before attempting any indepth work such as this.

Oh, you can toughen up and work harder then that if there is something you think you can do and believe in. Anyone who can do more then "humpty Dumpty" certainly can do a better job then that or not. I am not going to hold your hand for you, thats for sure.

i know i am the artist i know i am, I had the opportunity to work and learn from Owen Gromme who in In 1978, he was also chosen as Ducks Unlimited artist of the year and the sales from prints of his painting of Wood Ducks entitled "Fall Kaleidoscope", netted DU $600,000.00 towards waterfowl habitat protection. I think that people like you Anton are negitive you are a skeptic and don't belive in anything... I understand what a serious job it is, just like the rainer billboard, that they choose to put up after I gave them my idea, they added the big vic to the picture or j.wt that used my idea for frost bite falls artwork on the t'shirts that i made....for the frostbite falls foot race... and were copied. I guess, from my end there will be no more inquires made about doing somthing for nothing other than to help our community, which is all that i wanted to do...our comunity has many artists we would love to express in the county court house...so sorry,,,i will no longer inquire

I can't think of any reason

I can't think of any reason why you should have to pay to put your work in YOUR courthouse, except of course, to pay for the court house workers lounge for them to smoke in. But be patient as maybe a place might become available in town that will allow you to put your work visable to all to see. Actually as you probably now know, you can display your work at the old school as many others are doing. If what your talking about is a commercial job to paint the inside of the court house then performance bonding will be a requirement and an open bid submitted. If your talking about painting the inside of your court house for free, then probably some other arrangement could be made as if you turn out to not be the artist you think you are the next guy can just cover it up. This job is a rather serious and detailed construction job I think.

I think this is for painting

I think this is for painting the walls and repairing the same walls in the courthouse. I think all artists are painters but not all painters are artists, or are they. To work for the gov't you must bid for jobs that are anticipated to cost the gov't over $50000, a quote is $25000, at least I think that is how it is. You have to post some prove and give the county some protection that you are going to do a good job and at the same time finish it on time. You will get any bond money(5%) or other funds back after the job is completed in a satifactory manner and then recieve you bid amount(the amount of money you say you will do the job for). Its not a dumb question, gov't can just be confusing at times.
