Electricians breakfast
Retired Boise Cascade electricians, spouses and guests will gather for breakfast at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Moonlight Madness
The International Falls Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee encourages the public to get out and shop like mad from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the citywide Moonlight Madness Sales. Register to win $25 gift certificates at participating merchants and restaurants. Music, food vendors and activities for the kids will be featured. Call 283-9400 for more information.

Driving course
A four-hour refresher defensive driving course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25 at Rainy River Community College. The course is for drivers age 55 and older that have already had the eight-hour defensive driving course and want to continue receiving the insurance discount. Instructor will be Sgt. Mike Flatley from the Minnesota State Patrol. Pre-register by calling Community Education at 283-2571, ext. 109.

Father’s Day Party
A Father’s Day Party will get underway at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Koochiching County Senior Center. Music will be presented by “Borderland Pioneers.” Everyone is welcome to attend.

Charis course
canceled       
The Charis course offered by Concordia College and scheduled for the second week of August at Thunderbird Lodge has been cancelled because of sudden unavailability of the presenter.
 
Summer golf
The International Falls Recreation Commission will begin the Recreation Junior Golf Program Thursday at Falls Country Club. The program, which will run from 9 a.m to noon June 18, 25, July 2 and 9, will focus on beginning junior golfers ages 8 to 16 years old. Participants will learn and work on the basic fundamentals of golf, golf rules, and get some playing time on the course. For more information, contact the Recreation Office at 283-2571, ext. 138.

Lady golfers
The “Rally for a Cure” Golf Scramble is set for Wednesday, rain or shine. Registration is at noon with tee off at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $25. Teams will be made up according to handicap. A quilt will be raffled and various prizes awarded. All skill levels are welcome. Proceeds will go to The Susan G. Komen Foundation. Sign up in the Pro Shop; pay day of scramble. Quilt guild
The Whispering Pines Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Family Life Center of Evangelical Covenant Church. Quilters are reminded to wear a nametag, bring a fat quarter of yellow fabric for the drawing and two red, white and blue pinwheel blocks if wish to take part in the block exchange drawing. Show and Tell items are always welcome. Area quilters of any level of experience are welcome to attend.
