Elks supper
The Elks Lodge will serve a supper of stuffed pork chops, potatoes, salad, vegetable, rolls, dessert and coffee at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Call early for reservations, 283-3440.
Hemstad benefit
A benefit for Trygg Hemstad will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. June 24 at the Ranier Hall. The menu will include hot dogs, brats, chips, coffee, pop and bars. The public is welcome to attend.
Saddle club
Rainy River Riders Saddle Club will conduct a meeting/work bee at the arena on Hwy 332 at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Bridge removal
Redstone Construction Company, Inc., Mora, will begin removal of the Lindford Bridge on County State Aid Highway No. 1 over the Big Fork River on Thursday. As it is not possible to provide a bypass structure, the roadway will be closed in this area until the new bridge and approaches are completed in the summer of 2009. Any questions may be directed to the County Engineer’s Office at 283-1186.

Falls High School Class of`1941 will gather for a noon luncheon Wednesday at the Holiday Inn.

An Ericsburg Days meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lu’s Bar & Grill.
First Responders
The annual public meeting of the Rainy River First Responders is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Loman Church.
Open horse show
Littlefork Saddle Club will host an Open Horse Show and NBHA Barrels beginning at 10 a.m. June 21 at the Littlefork Fairgrounds. A copy of current Negative Coggins is required for all horses. Concessions will be available. The public is welcome to attend.
Retired electricians
Retired Boise Cascade electricians will gather for a breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.
‘Celebrate Recovery’
We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. As a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up or habit. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based, 12-step program and the group meets every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church. Everyone is welcome.
Timber Mill Jam
The 4th Annual Timber Mill Jam on July 4 will kick off two days full of activities in Baudette. The Jam is held each year at the Skate Park, located on the western edge of Timber Mill Community Park. Registration and warm-up runs begin at 9:45 a.m., with the competition starting at 10. This year’s competition is open to athletes on skateboards, roller blades, and trick bikes, and trophies will be awarded in each category. Along with the entry fee of $3, refreshments will also be available for sale to help cover the cost of trophies and prizes. The public is encouraged to attend.
The Lamplighters
The Lamplighters, an on-going women’s support group for survivors of incest and/or childhood sexual abuse, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Sunrise Center Against Sexual Abuse, 203 Third St. Facilitator is Pam Bechik, MA in Psychology. A light meal will be provided by Domino’s Pizza prior to each group meeting. Pre-register by calling 283-9334.

Men, women and teenagers are welcome to play open horseshoes from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Kerry Park. No experience is necessary.
Fifty-Five Plus
The Fifty-Five Plus of Evangelical Covenant Church will gather for a potluck at 6 p.m. tonight. A program featuring Roy Hope, a singer from Sinai, S.D., will follow at 7. Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located at 1631 First Ave. E.

Gastric bypass group
The Gastric Bypass Support Group will not meet during the summer months. Meetings will resume in September with meetings being changed to the third Thursday of each month. Meetings are at 6 p.m. at Falls Elementary School Library. Anyone with questions about the support group can call Deana Lorenson at 283-4308.
Quilt guild
The Whispering Pines Quilt Guild will meet Thursday in the Family Life Center of Evangelical Covenant Church. Sewing will begin at 6 p.m. with the meeting at 7 — come when you can. Quilters are reminded to wear a nametag, bring a fat quarter of spring colored fabric for the drawing and bring two wild rose blocks that were demonstrated at the last meeting if they wish to take part in the block exchange. Show and Tell items are always welcome. All area quilters of any level of experience are welcome to attend.
