Girl Scouts fund raiser
Girl Scouts will be selling Tacos-in-A-Bag from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the International Mall during the Halloween Spook Alley as a fund raiser for their London trip.

Park operations
Voyageurs National Park began fall operations this month. The park has closed the Kabetogama Lake and Ash River Visitor Centers for the season. Rainy Lake Visitor Center will remain open Wednesday through Sunday, Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Jan. 2 through May 2009, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. With the fall colors nearing the end of the season, the National Park Service encourages residents to go hiking on the park’s trails located near all three visitor centers. These trails offer great scenic views. Voyageurs National Park will offer a program each month from October through April 2009. Watch for program announcements in the newspaper.

Loss Support Group
The Loss Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the International Mall in the back room near Synergy Solutions.

Turkey Bingo
The Littlefork American Legion has planned a Turkey Bingo for 7 p.m. Saturday at Littlefork Community Building to help support Scholarship Funds.

Children’s Fall Fest
Area children are welcome to the Children’s Fall Fest from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Family Life Center of Evangelical Covenant Church. Participants are asked to wear a costume and join in for free carnival games, face painting, candy and more — a safe night of trick-or-treating and games. Pizza, hot dogs, chips and beverages will be available for a minimal charge. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Men’s breakfast
St. Paul Lutheran Church men will gather for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Square dance
lessons
New students for square dance lessons will be accepted Sunday and Nov. 9. Anyone interested may contact Dennis or Annette Bush to sign up at 283-9533.

Degree of Honor
Degree of Honor members will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the art club room at Backus Community Center.
