Bookmobile schedule
The Arrowhead Library System Bookmobile will be at the following stops Friday: Littlefork, Medical Center, 9:30-10 a.m.; Big Falls, Sunview Apartments, 10:40-11:20; Gemmell, Country Sampler, 12:30-1 p.m.; Mizpah Post Office, 1:15-1:45; and Northome Post Office, 2:15-3. Birch bark weaving
Retired Silviculturist John Zasada will weave birch bark into many different items when Voyageurs National Park hosts a Birch Bark Weaving Class from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Zasada will guide participants through the steps of weaving their own birch bark creation, as well as talk about how to properly debark a tree. Class size is limited. Registration and $30 instructor fee is required. call 286-4258 to register.
Spring dinner
Bethany Lutheran Church, Loman, will host their Spring Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Menu consists of ham, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and assorted desserts. Free will donation will be accepted. Supplemental funds are provided by Thrivent Financial. The public is welcome to attend.
Spring play
Littlefork-Big Falls is presenting “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” a comedy-thriller-murder-mystery, for the spring play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Littlefork-Big Falls old gymnasium theater. The public is welcome to attend.
Soup supper
The public is welcome to attend the “First Thursday” Soup Supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Reception Room at Backus Community Center. Sponsor is Kantor Electric. Suggested donation of $5 includes soup, bread and crackers, beverage and dessert. Dinner ticket Value Packs for Soup and Top the Tater Suppers will be available. Following the supper, an “Open Mic”event will be featured in Room 111 at Backus.
Birchdale supper
The public is welcome to attend the Birchdale Church-hosted Swedish Meatball Supper with all the fixings planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Birchdale Hall. Free will offering will be accepted. A bake sale will be featured, as well as homemade breads, etc., available.
USDA Rural Development
Office day for United States Development of Agriculture Rural Development will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the basement conference room of Koochiching County Courthouse. Rural Development provides a 1-percent interest rate home repair loan to very low income homeowners and a subsidized home purchase program to very low and low income households.
Bemidji Aglow
Bemidji Aglow will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Beltrami Electric Co-op. All are welcome to attend. No nursery is available. Contact person is Sharon, 218-759-6994.
