Soup supper
The public is welcome to the “First Thursday” soup supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Backus Community Center Reception Room. Sponsor is Bremer Bank. Suggested donation of $ 6 includes soup, bread and crackers, dessert and beverage. Dinner ticket Value Packs for Soup and Top the Tater suppers are available in the Backus office or at the door.

North Star Electric
Members are welcome to North Star Electric Cooperative’s 69th annual meeting set for Friday at Littlefork-Big Falls School. Dinner and registration begins at 5 p.m. Free childcare will be provided from 6 until adjournment of meeting. Entertainment will be by Koo-chi-ching Twirlers. Business meeting will run from 6:30 to 8:30 and includes election of board members for Districts 6 and 7. Free bus service will be available. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 will serve pie to residents of Falls Good Samaritan Center at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
