Homecoming change
The Pepfest and Homecoming Coronation will be conducted from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, not Tuesday, at Falls High School. The public is welcome to attend.
Teen Gaming
Teen Gaming at the Library is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Teens in grades 7 and above are welcome to bring a friend or come alone to play Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Mario Super Strikers and more.
Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers will meet Thursdays at Zion Lutheran Church for weighs-in at 11:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., with meetings at 12:15 and 5:45 p.m.
Peace Is The Way event
The community is welcome to gather with The Peace Cell of International Falls between 11:45 a.m. and noon Wednesdays at the City Flagpole. The purpose is to raise collective consciousness with a five-minute silent intention for peace within ourselves, our families, our community, our country and in our world. In case of inclement weather, the group will meet by the memorial inside the courthouse.
Memorial service
The St. Mary’s Hospice and Palliative Care Fourth Annual Memorial Service is set for 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at Lakeview Covenant Church, 1001 Jean Duluth Rd., Duluth. Hospice families and friends will gather to remember loved ones, honor families and thank community caregivers. For more information, call 218-786-4020.
Soup supper
The public is welcome to attend the “First Thursday"”soup supper scheduled for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Backus Community Center Reception Room. Sponsor is Coca Cola. Suggested donation of $5 includes soup, bread and crackers, beverage and cookies. Backus “Dinner Value Packs” for Soup and Top the Tater Suppers will be available. Six-pack tickets are $25 and 12-pack tickets are $50. Value packs also for sale in the Backus office.
Taco supper
A taco supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Moose Lodge.
