Concert bus
The Veterans of Foreign Wars-sponsored bus to Thursday’s Border Concert at Backus Auditorium will pick up at 6:35 p.m. at Hampton Court, 6:40 at West Falls Estates and Robb-Ross, 6:45 at Rivers Edge Villa and 6:50 at Woodland. The fourth Border Concert of the season will present “April Verch Band,” a fiddle and stepdancing champion and singer. Along with her three back-up musicians, she presents a program that ranges from traditional Celtic fiddling and bluegrass to Latin American. Also, the “Top the Tater” dinner begins at 4:30 at Backus.

Providers Choice
workshop
A free food program workshop is planned for child care providers and parents from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 30 at Falls High School. Providers Choice, Inc. is a sponsor of the United States Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program that provides nutrition education as well as reimbursement for meals fed to children in licensed day care homes. Cindy Christy, Area Coordinator for Providers Choice, will be the presenter of “Cent$ible Meals.” Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, contact Christy at 218-263-8727.

The Arrowhead Library System Bookmobile will be at the following stops Thursday: Noon-1 p.m., Lakeview Baptist Church, Orr; 1:30-2, Public Access, Ash Lake; 2:30-3, Kabetogama Community Center; 3:45-4:15, Woodland Inn, Ray. Stops scheduled for Friday are: 9:30-10 a.m., Littlefork Medical Center; 10:40-11:20, Sunview Apartments, Big Falls; 12:30-1 p.m., Country Sampler, Gemmell; 1:15-1:45, Mizpah Post office; and 2:15-3, Northome Post Office. Senior Federation
The 35th Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Senior Federation-North Star Regional Forum, is set for May 8 at United In Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Station 44 Road, Eveleth. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The annual meeting will convene at 10. The guest speaker will talk on area homelessness and business to be conducted includes resolutions and election of Moderator and Vice-Moderator for the next term.
