Community Market
Backus Community Market continues Saturday in conjunction with the Backus Arts and Crafts Festival in the City Square at the International Falls Bass Championship. Market vendors, crafters and artisans will feature produce, baked goods, handmade and specialty products. The market resumes in the AB Third Street parking lot Aug. 30.

Moose supper
A ribeyes-on-the-grill supper will be served at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge. Reservations are needed and may be made by calling 283-3615.

Red Hat Loonaticks
The Red Hat Loonaticks will gather at 11:30 a.m. Monday to enjoy sundaes at the Dairy Queen.

Book sale
The Friends of the Library monthly book sale will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday. Lots of new books will be available. The public is welcome to get some end of summer beach reading or maybe some back to school reading. All sales are by donation with proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Library support of the library.

Ray picnic
The Annual Ray Community Potluck Picnic is planned for 4:30 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine. Refreshments and meat will be furnished. Bring utensils.

‘Serenity Sisters’
The Women’s A.A. gathering, “Serenity Sisters,” will meet at noon Friday at the Backus building, Rational Alternatives Room 101.

Border league
The Border Bowling League will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Timber Pins.

Elks meal
The Elks Lodge Friday Light Meal of walleye sandwiches and French fries will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Class schedules
Falls High School students may begin to pick up class schedules Monday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school office.

Totem pole tickets
The totem pole donated to Citizens for Backus/AB by Linda and Carl Muggli will be on display during the International Falls Bass Championship. Raffle tickets are available at the Backus booth, Arts and Craft Fair. Drawing will be at 7 p.m. Saturday it the big tent. Need not be present to win.
