Shoberg joins architecture company
Architectural Resources, Inc., a full-service architectural and engineering firm, recently announced the addition of Jim Shoberg as a registered landscape architect and USGBC LEED accredited professional to their company.
Shoberg brings six years of experience in the landscape architecture profession. He has experience in land development planning ranging from small urban parcels to mixed use developments. He is involved with projects from conceptual site planning through construction.

Change on AbitibiBowater board
AbitibiBowater announced the resignation, for personal reasons, of John W. Weaver from the company's board of directors. This departure was formally accepted and took effect on Oct. 31, 2009.
"John was a driving force behind the creation of AbitibiBowater and he has continued to support the organization as it progresses through its current restructuring," commented David J. Paterson, the company’s president and chief executive officer. "On behalf of AbitibiBowater, I would like to thank John for his contributions and dedication. I wish him all the best as he moves forward in his professional and personal life."
As announced on Jan. 22, 2009, Weaver continued to serve as director on the company's board in order to permit an orderly transition following his retirement as non-executive chairman of AbitibiBowater on Feb. 1, 2009.
Weaver is the former executive chairman of AbitibiBowater. He served as president and chief executive officer of Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. from 1999 to October 2007. During his more than 30 years of experience in the forest products industry, Weaver held a number of senior executive positions in operations and sales prior to being appointed president and chief executive officer of Abitibi-Consolidated.
Orthopaedic surgeon earns board certification
Joshua J. Rother, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Associates of Duluth has earned board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. The certification means he has met the specified educational, evaluation, and examination requirements of the board.
Orthopaedics is the broad-based medical and surgical specialty dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Rother is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed his residency at St. Louis University. He joined Orthopaedic Associates in 2006.
