The Marshall N. Knudson Family Community Fund reminds Koochiching County residents and those who serve the county that grant application deadlines for 2010 are April 1, July 1 and Oct. 1.
The purpose of the fund is to support non-profit and charitable groups and activities that enrich the lives of the citizens of International Falls and Koochiching County. The fund, part of the American Endowment Foundation, was established by International Falls native and longtime International Falls head librarian Marie Knudson who passed away in 2008.
The fund will distribute grants to not-for-profit charitable organizations with 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service. Areas of giving are libraries, educational programs, scholarships, assistance for the hearing impaired, the arts, extracurricular school activities, gardening and public beautification projects, programs to assist families in financial need as well as promotion of the general welfare and quality of life in the community.
Grants to be awarded in the remainder of 2010 may range from $500 to $5,000. Individuals will not be funded.
Applicants will have to complete a formal grant application.
