Shelly Timmer, who serves the Littlefork Ambulance Service as an emergency medical technician and was an officer until just recently, has been given a 60-day suspension.
The Littlefork City Council first considered the discipline in May. The suspension was upheld Tuesday at a closed disciplinary hearing after various individuals were heard in regard to an internal ambulance service policy dispute. The dispute did not pertain to an ambulance run or any patient, City Administrator Mike Fairchild said previously.
Timmer was in attendance at City Hall as well as City Attorney Joe Boyle, Fairchild and ambulance service members Sam Hege and Laurie Smith, who were summoned for their input. Littlefork Medical Center recorder Beverly Houglum served as secretary in the absence of City Clerk Sonja Pelland.
Regarding a separate issue, Fairchild reported that an emergency meeting was to be called Wednesday evening to name Councilor Loren Lehman as a temporary signer on the city and Littlefork Medical Center bank accounts. He explained that the circumstances of the resignation of former mayor Jerry Anderson, as well as the unavailability of appointed alternate signer Noel Schroeder, left the city without an official signature for payroll checks.
