Three incumbents have filed for positions on the International Falls City Council, while no one has yet to file for positions on the Littlefork City Council and Ranier City Council.
People may file for the positions at the offices of the respective governments. The contests will be decided in the November general election.
Shawn Mason has filed for reelection to a 4-year term of mayor, and Tim “Chopper” McBride has filed for reelection to the 4-year term of councilor at large. Cynthia Jaksa has filed for election to the 4-year term of West Ward council. Jaksa was appointed to the position until January, after it was vacated by the resignation of Kerry Meyers. No one has filed for the three Littlefork City Council and mayoral positions up for election. The filing period for the positions closes Sept. 10.
No one has filed for the two Ranier City Council positions and the Ranier mayoral seat up for election. Filings close at 4 p.m. Sept. 9.
No one was available at the Falls School District offices Tuesday afternoon to report on filings for the four Falls School Board seats up for election. Filings close Sept. 9.
