The Koochiching Development Authority Board is scheduled to discuss funding for a partnership between all cities located in Koochiching County when it meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the courthouse boardroom.
The regular Koochiching County Board meeting is scheduled to follow at 10:15 a.m.
During the regular meeting, an update on the state’s shoreland rules, administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, is scheduled at 11:10 a.m. The DNR has scheduled a public hearing to consider changes to the rules at 6:30 p.m. June 25 at the Holiday Inn in International Falls.
Public comment is scheduled to follow Environmental Services business.
The board is scheduled to discuss Highway Department business at 10:25 a.m., followed by Public Health Department business at 10:35 a.m.
A presentation on the United Way program is scheduled for 10:55 p.m.
The board, meeting in committee at 1:30 p.m., is scheduled to hear an update on a feasibility study for a proposed plasma gasification facility. The facility would use a plasma arc torch to vaporize garbage from the region, which would produce byproducts, such as energy and materials, that could be sold.
The county is involved in a five-month long study to examine the economic and environmental impacts, as well as the technology, of building a facility in Koochiching County.
