The following people have been sentenced for aggravated misdemeanor or felony crimes in Koochiching County District Court.

• Jeffrey L. Smith, 40, International Falls, was sentenced April 16 for felony first-degree driving while intoxicated and gross misdemeanor second-degree driving under the influence.

On the first-degree charge, he was committed to the commissioner of corrections for 48 months and ordered to pay $3,240 fine and court costs. He was ordered to serve six months in the county jail.

He was placed on seven years supervised probation and $1,500 was stayed on court conditions. He was ordered to perform 240 hours with the Sentence to Serve crew or may serve 30 days under electronic home monitor.

On the second-degree charge, he was ordered to serve one year in the county jail and pay $3,222 fine and court costs. Three months of the jail and $1,800 was stayed on court conditions. The jail time is to be served consecutively with the previous sentence and he was placed on three years supervised probation. He was ordered to serve 80 hours with the Sentence to Serve crew or may serve 30 hours under electronic home monitor.
