John Pasten, 55

John R. Pasten, 55, of Flagstaff, Ariz., died on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Flagstaff Medical Center.
John was born on Nov. 15, 1952 in Chicago, Ill., to John & Doris (Neumann) Pasten. The family moved to Big Falls, Minn., where John started school, but soon returned to Chicago where he attended Barry Elementary School four years, until finally relocating to Minnesota for the remainder of his education, graduating from Littlefork-Big Falls High School.


Luanne J. Graves, 34

Luanne J. Graves, 34, of Libby, Mont., died July 8, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center from injuries received from a motor vehicle accident. She was born Sept. 22, 1973 in Libby, Mon., to Russell and Lois Petrie Graves.
Her children were the biggest priority of her life. She loved the outdoors, which included camping, swimming and fishing. She also enjoyed cooking and music. She was a member of the Libby Christian Church.


Marcia Felix, 99

Marcia Felix, age 99 of Rainycrest Long Term Care, 550 Osborne St., passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008 at LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario.
She was born on May 20, 1909 in Skala, the Ukraine, to the late Michael and Pauline Momotiuk. Marcia came to Canada with her family when she was very young, and the family settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Ronnie James Frank, 60

Ronnie James Frank, 60, passed away suddenly Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his home in Cologne, Minn.
He was born Oct. 26, 1947, to Littlefork residents John and Zona Frank.
On Sept. 26, 1968, he married Renae Bystedt. They had two sons, Derrick James and Aaron Jeffrey.


Richard D. Hanson, 77

Richard D. Hanson, 77, was born in Mentor, Minn., on Sept. 5, 1930, to Louis and Julia Hanson and died July 3, 2008.
He worked for Boise Cascade in International Falls, Minn., and retired at age 55.
He was living at Meadow Park Nursing Facility in St. Helens, Ore. He died at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital on July 3.


Floyd G. Arnold, 76

Floyd G. Arnold, 76, of International Falls, passed away Friday afternoon, July 4, 2008 in his home with his wife by his side.
He was born in Kingston, Minn., on Sept. 6, 1931, to Ernest and Venus Arnold. He moved to International Falls with his parents as an infant where he was a life long resident.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952. When returning from duty, he started working for Boise Insulite Division in 1952.
On May 29, 1954 he married Virginia Koch of International Falls.


Lorrayne Mary Charnell, 69

Lorrayne Mary Charnell, age 69, of Prescott, Wis., died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1939, in International Falls, Minn., the daughter of Gus and Mary (Lukaskie) Charnell.
A former Honeywell employee, she retired in 1999 and was a member of Teamster Local No. 1145.


Opal Ovidia Wagner, 99

Opal Ovidia Wagner of International Falls, Minn., died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Falls Good Samaritan Care Center. Opal was 99 years of age and the last one of 12 children born to Simon and Ingeborg Hafdahl.
Opal was born June 15, 1909, at Beltrami, Minn.
As a small child she and her parents along with four other siblings moved to Fairland, Minn., from Beltrami where her father had filed a timber claim. They moved to a log cabin Simon had built for the family. Six children were born there. The family then moved north to Loman and the last child was born there.


R. Marjorie Mylnechuk Draper

R. Marjorie Mylnechuk Draper of Independence, Ore., passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the age of 84.
She was born July 17, 1923 in International Falls, Minn., to Leslie and Doris (Blazer) Raco.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, William Mylnechuk in 1967 and her second husband, Charles Richmond Draper in 1995.
She moved from Albany in 1995 living in Independence with her daughter.


Clarence Bishop, 77

Funeral services for Badger resident Clarence Bishop will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Badger.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.
Clarence passed away Friday, June 27, at LifeCare Medical Center, Roseau. He was 77 years old.
