Connie Marie (Sykes) Morey, 50

Connie Marie (Sykes) Morey, of Littlefork, Minn., passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, Minn., Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. She was 50 years of age.
She was born Oct. 26, 1957, in Bemidji, Minn., to William and Jennette Sykes.
In 1962 she moved to International Falls and graduated from Falls High School in 1976.
She was united in marriage to Roderick Morey on Oct. 31, 2001.
Connie was employed at the Littlefork Nursing Home.
In 2000 she moved to Florida, but returned to her home in Littlefork in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennette and William Sykes. 
Connie is survived by her husband and best friend, Roderick Morey; children, Lisa and Benjamin Benedix; four brothers, Mike (Laurie) Sykes of Rockford, Minn., Bill (Robyn) Sykes of North Branch Minn., Dan Sykes of Alaska and David Sykes of International Falls, Minn.; her sister, Carol (Lonnie) Butts of International Falls, Minn.; two nieces. Becky (Todd) Janssen and Kim (Chuck) Nuthak; two nephews, Jeff (JoEllen) Butts and Lonnie (Sammy) Butts; three great-nephews, Dylan Janssen, Aaron Davis and Garret Davis; three great-nieces, Nicole (Chris) Kossow, Lucie Scholler and Kylar Butts; and one great-great-nephew, Aiston Kossow.
Connie was very proud of her military service in the Air Force. In her spare time she enjoyed the outdoors. She loved camping, reading and spending time with her family. She was especially proud of her two children, Lisa and Ben.  Connie will be remembered for her great love for animals.
A memorial service with full military rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls, with a gathering of family and friends to follow at Ranier Hall.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers in memory of Connie.
