KEDA Board News Notes

• The Koochiching Economic Development Authority Board directed KEDA Director Paul Nevanen to bring back more information about two choices of companies that are expected to assist in providing a brand for Koochiching County.
• The board was also given an update on KEDA’s former administrative assistant Brenda Long after an audience member asked about the situation.


Bears sweep Broncos in opener

The Lake of the Woods Bears used a late rally in game three to complete a sweep of the Bronco girls volleyball team 25-17, 25-15 and 26-24 in the opening match of the season played Tuesday night at the Falls High Gym.

The Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings used dominant serving, good communication and a clear height advantage to sweep the Cherry Tigers 25-14, 25-19, 25-14 Tuesday night in the opening game of their season at the Littlefork gym.


Fisheries not taking fish from Rainy Lake

Fish processed at Can-Am Fisheries is not coming from Rainy Lake, with the exception one load that has come from an Ontario commercial fisherman.
Koochiching Economic Development Authority Board members said Wednesday that they were concerned about fish being taken out of Rainy Lake. They also clarified that they never said that no fish would be taken out of the lake.
Rainy Lake commercial netter Blaine Tucker of Ontario has sold one load of fish to the company, according to DeNucci.


New addressing ordinance in place for Littlefork

According to the recently written Littlefork Ordinance No. 98, many residents in the city will soon be obliged to post or replace house numbers; and some hard-to-find city addresses will require the purchase of reflective signs.
For emergency purposes, all owners or occupants of residential, commercial or industrial structures within the city of Littlefork will now be required to display assigned address numbers which conform to the ordinance.
