Darold Bounds, age 79, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Fair Oaks Lodge, Wadena, Minn.
He was born Oct. 27, 1928, to Claude and Florence (Thompson) Bounds in Bullard Township in Wadena County.
Darold went to school in Verndale and was later drafted into the service Oct. 1, 1951. He served our country in Panama.
Darold was united in marriage with Joan Johnson Sept. 8, 1956, in Tower, Minn. They were blessed with four children.
Darold lived in International Falls after the service and was employed at the paper mill. In his 30 years at the mill he never missed a day of work.
He enjoyed time with his dogs, deer hunting at the farm, and Minnesota Twins baseball.
Darold was preceded in death by his father; and his devoted wife, Joan, on Aug. 31, 2008.
He is survived by his four children, Allen, Terry (Mary Perala), Lori (Raymond Duvos), and Brad, all of International Falls; his mother, Florence of Verndale; grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, and Michael Bounds; sisters, Lavonne Kern of Verndale, Claudette (Gene) Greenwald of Hewitt, Roberta (Larry) Sahr of Coon Rapids; brothers, Willis (Mary), Wayne, and Jerome, all of Verndale; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 3, at Johnson Memorial Home Chapel, Verndale.
Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home, Verndale.
