Darwin Donald Fish, 59

Darwin Donald Fish, 59, of International Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Falls Memorial Hospital.
Born July 6, 1948 in Warroad, Minn., Darwin grew up in International Falls and graduated from Falls High School, Class of 1966.
He served in the United States Army in the Military Police from 1966 to 1970.
He resided in Colorado for a short time before returning to the Falls.
He was united in marriage to Gail Forsythe on Jan. 6, 1968 at Mission Covenant Church in International Falls.
Darwin worked as a papermaker for Boise Cascade for many years, retiring in 1999. He became co-owner of Richmond Floral Shop in 2002 with his wife Gail as well as continuing the Fish Lock and Security business for over 20 years.
Darwin loved horses and motorcycling. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He was an active member of the local Masonic Lodge and held many chairs in the lodge over the years. He was a 33 Degree Mason.
He will be sorely missed by his coffee crowd at the Shorelunch Café.
Darwin was preceded in death by his son, Roger Fish.
He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Gail; his parents, Donald and Mary Ellen Fish of the Falls; his son, Shane (Colleen) Fish of the Falls; four grandchildren, Kayla Olson, Jennifer Olson, Jeffrey Lane and Cassandra Lane; great-grandson, Trent; two brothers, Duane (Mary) Fish of International Falls and Darrell (Rose) Fish of Littlefork; his sister, Shelly Fish of Fort Collins, Colo.; mother and father in-law, Freeman and Rose Forsythe; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Green-Larsen Mortuary Memorial Chapel, with Masonic service at 6:30.
Funeral service with full military rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Evangelical Covenant Church. Pastor Eric W. Marx will officiate.
The family would prefer memorials to the Falls Dialysis, c/o Koochiching County Health Department, 1000 Fifth St., International Falls, MN 56649.
