It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Evangelyn Faith Bjorkman, aged 60, of Hutchinson Township, on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan, Ontario.
Evangelyn was born March 13, 1948, in Littlefork, Minn., to Vernon and Faith Francis.
She later moved to Atikokan where she assisted her husband with his business, Dave’s Appliances and Repair.
She enjoyed taking pictures and compiling photo albums. She also loved read and play the piano. Most of all though, her family was her life. She also made daily application of her faith in God.
Evangelyn was united in marriage July 24, 1970, to David, who survives her along with their children, Sherie (Aaron) Ayotte of Chelmsford, Ontario, and Lorie Bjorkman of Minneapolis, Minn.
Also surviving her are her parents, Vernon and Faith Francis of International Falls, Minn.; six grandchildren, Vangie and Jazmin Ayotte and Kaleb, Katelyn, David and Olivia Bjorkman; one brother, Howard (Nancy) Francis of Arkansas; four sisters, Edie (David) Heem of Bemidji, Minn., Beverly (Steve) Kopkie of Park Rapids, Minn., Shirley (Ron) Molitor of Alexandria, Minn., and Marian (James) Love of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Sharla Bjorkman of Atikokan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Benjamin, March 14, 2005.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at First Baptist Church, Atikokan. The Rev. Al Piper officiated followed by interment at Little Falls Cemetery, Atikokan.
Friends visited with the family Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Vangie’s nephews, Bjorn Bjorkman, Aaron Bjorkman, Zachary Bjorkman, Andy Heem, Joel Kopkie and Isaac Molitor.
