Francis R. Graves, 89, of International Falls, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at the Veterans Home, Silver Bay, Minn.
Francis was born in Ulen, Minn., on April 17, 1919, to Frank and Ruth (Underdahl) Graves. He grew up in International Falls.
He married Audrey Thorson on Sept. 12, 1941 in International Falls.
Francis joined the Army on Nov. 19, 1942 and served in World War II. Following the service, Francis worked for Boise in International Falls, where he would later retire after 40 years of service.
Francis enjoyed camping, fishing and the time that he had with his family.
He is survived by his son, Francis (Bev) Graves of Little Falls, Minn.; daughters, Glenda (Perry) Mettler of International Falls, Minn., and Gail (Tim) Holmestad of Ray, Minn.; brother, Russell Graves of Libby, Mo.; sisters, Loraine Folkstad of Minneapolis, Minn., Mary (Allan) Burnell of Sprague, Canada and JoAnne Mainville of Minneapolis, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey on July 13, 2000; son, Eldon on May 14, 2001; brothers, Arnold, Harold and Merlin; and one sister in-law, Dorothy Graves.
