Harriett Z. Boyer, 91, of Dakota, formerly of Beloit, Wis., died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport.
Born Sept. 13, 1917, at Darlington, Wis., she was the daughter of Charles and Mary L. (Schwartz) Murray.
She and Richard Boyer were married June 2, 1936, and renewed their vows in July of 1942.
Richard preceded Harriett in death in 2004.
She worked at Burgess Battery for several years prior to moving to Clinton, Iowa. She enjoyed restoring old homes with her husband, crocheting, needle point and entertaining the neighborhood kids.
She and Richard especially enjoyed spending summers at Lake Kabetogama by International Falls, Minn.
She was a member of Dakota United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, John (Shirley) Murray of Pecatonica; four grandchildren, Kelly (Bill) Monigold of Freeport, Wendy (Andrew) Monigold of Milwaukee, Wis., Beth (Ervin) Bechtolt of Freeport, and David Craig of Stockton; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy Sughroue, Jo Dee (Ryan) Nicosia, Aaron Monigold, Chris Monigold, Angie Monigold, DeWayne Moss, currently serving in Afghanistan, and Erica Craig; five great-great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Wayne Craig.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Judy Craig, five sisters and five brothers.
Cremation rites will be accorded followed by a graveside memorial service at the Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name for the FHN Memorial Hospice.
