LeRoy Schneider, age 75, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1934, at Cold Spring, Minn., where he lived until moving to International Falls in 1941; he had lived in the Falls area ever since.
He worked for the City Water Department as a supervisor for 34 years and also was active on the Falls Fire Department for several years.
LeRoy was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
He enjoyed spending time at his hobby farm in Birchdale and did a lot of fishing and hunting with his son and grandchildren in his retirement years. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play hockey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Schneider; infant brother, Kenneth; and a sister, Delores Servis.
Survivors include a sister, Bonnie Linsten of International Falls; sons, Greg Schneider of International Falls and Steve Schneider of Benton, Kan.; daughters, Kris Clausen of Cooper City, Fla. and Holly Heinke of Hugo, Minn.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Green-Larsen Mortuary. Vigil Prayers will begin at 6 p.m. and the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 6:30.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
In memoriam donations would be preferred in LeRoy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
