Lois Margaret Jensen, 81, of International Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Lois was born to Richard and May Peterson in Milbank, S.D., on Aug. 11, 1927. She grew up there and at the age of 20, they moved to Henning, Minn.

Lois married Dean Marvin Jensen on Aug. 29, 1948. In 1957 they made their home in International Falls and this union was blessed with seven children, Lavonne VanVoorst, Darlene (Al) Morin, Juanita (Ron) Ohotto, Roger (Irene) Jensen, Curt Jensen, Keith (Darlene) Jensen and Rick (Shirley) Jensen.

Aside from being a devoted wife and mother, Lois also enjoyed part time jobs delivering mail and The Daily Journal until Dean’s retirement in 1984. During their retirement years, they enjoyed their children’s and grandchildren’s homes, spending winters in Arizona and numerous camping and fishing trips.

Lois also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and playing Bingo.

Shortly before her death, she resided at Falls Good Samaritan Center where she enjoyed spending time with numerous friends.

Loved ones greeting Lois at the heavenly gates were her husband, Dean who died Dec. 12, 1998 after 50 years of marriage; granddaughter, Stephanie; great-grandson, Caleb; her parents; brother, Glenn Peterson; and her sister, Peggy.

Aside from her children, Lois is survived by her brothers, Donald Peterson and Dean Peterson; sisters, Leona Brink, Myrtle McDonald, Alice Nelson and Viona Brink; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, July 2, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Evangelical Covenant Church, International Falls.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
