Funeral Mass for Loretta Genevieve (Krause) Martinson, 88, of Biwabik, will be at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, International Falls, with Fr. Mitch Byeck, OMI celebrating.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church with recitation of the rosary starting at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.

Arrangements are by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Gilbert.

Loretta died Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Virginia Convalescent Care Center, Virginia.

She was born March 26, 1921, in Superior, Wis., to Joseph and Barbara (Glazik) Krause.

She attended school in International Falls.

On Aug. 13, 1960, she married Bennie Martinson.

Loretta was a homemaker who enjoyed her dogs, cake making, music and card playing.

Loretta was a member of the VFW and Women’s Auxiliary of Aurora. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in International Falls and St. Johns Catholic Church in Biwabik. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Biwabik.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie; dog, Star; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Vernon and Joseph; sister, Alice; nephews, Paul Hewitt and Vernon J. Krause; and niece, Sharon Servis.
