Louella LaFrance, of International Falls, Minn., died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at her home in the Falls. She was 76 years of age.
Born April 24, 1932, at Rainy River, Ontario, Canada, she lived in Las Vegas, New York and Kansas but most of her life resided in International Falls.
The former Louella Laverdure was united in marriage to Daniel LaFrance in 1952.
Louella worked as a counselor for the Fergus Falls Chemical Dependency Program for 10 years, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed spending time at her cabin, visiting with friends and family, fishing, gardening, craftwork, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Louella belonged to the Alanon Club and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Israel and Dorothie (LaRocque) Laverdure; son, Tim Randall; and 12 siblings.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas LaFrance and Cory (Shelly) LaFrance, both of International Falls and David (Charlene) LaFrance of Stillwater, Minn.; two daughters, Mindee Carrier of Wasilla, Alaska and Lisa LaFrance of Winona, Texas; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Green-Larsen Mortuary, with vigil prayers at 5:30.
Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, International Falls.
Memorials are preferred to North Star Hospice or St. Thomas Catholic School in her memory.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the North Star Hospice nurses, Tammy, Polly, Bernadette and staff for their warm and caring attention.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, International Falls.
