Lyle Edward Vigoren, 88

Lyle Edward Vigoren, age 88, of Littlefork, Minn., died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Rainy Lake Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 30, 1921 at Bagley, Minn., to Louis and Emma Vigoren.

Lyle enlisted in the United States Navy on Sept. 29, 1942, and was honorably discharged Nov. 24, 1945.

He was united in marriage to the former Edna Wento on Aug. 25, 1951.

Lyle was employed with Boise Cascade as a machine operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Adam Mayfield; brothers, Roy and Helmer; and sisters, Gea Rue, Alice Dowell and Anna Ferrie.

Survivors include son, Marvin Vigoren of International Falls; daughters, Nancy (Rev. Dr. Daren) Flinck of Lakeland, Minn., and Julie (Alan) Mayfield of International Falls; grandchildren, Erik Flinck, Erin (Josh) Lorenz, Elizabeth (Ryan) Quernemoen, Ryan (Rachel) Mayfield, Sarah (Larry) Morin, Evan and Wyatt Lorenz, Benjamin Quernemoen, Adam, Brandon, and Matthew Morin.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Green-Larsen Mortuary with military rites accorded by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Color Guard.

Interment will be at Ericsburg Cemetery.
