Marian Clara Anderson, 89, of International Falls, Minn., passed away quietly after a long-term illness Friday, May 16, 2008 at Littlefork Medical Center, Littlefork, Minn.
She was born Nov. 22, 1918 in International Falls to Joseph Jr. and Zeita (Craite) Gauthier.
A homemaker most of her life, Marian was raised as a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church.
She moved to California during World War II, and later returned to International Falls in 2000.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Allen Anderson of Lake of the Woods County; three brothers, Marvin, Ronald and Garfield Gauthier; one sister, Jean (Gauthier) Walker; and one daughter, Maxine.
She is survived by two daughters, Avaline Polley, of Grass Valley, Calif., and Barbara Warda, of Naperville, Ill.; one son, Robert Anderson, of Chandler, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Patricia Lagerstrom, of International Falls.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Green-Larsen Mortuary, International Falls.
No visitation or graveside services are planned.
The family requests that any contributions in Marian’s name be given to the American Cancer Society.
