Philip Wagner, of International Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Falls Good Samaritan Center. He was 82 years of age.
Born May 26, 1926, in International Falls to Frank P. and Anna (Ginter) Wagner, Philip was a lifelong resident of the Falls.
He proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Barnwell during World War II from 1944 to 1946.
He was the manager of the Northern Auto Parts Store and later the Genuine Auto Parts Store.
He was united in marriage to the former Marian Davine Jorgenson Oct. 12, 1949, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
In 1971 he began working in the maintenance department at Falls High School and retired in 1988 after 17 years of service to the school district.
Phil enjoyed golfing and was a lifelong member of the VFW Club, the Moose Lodge and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank E. Wagner; sisters, Rose O’Handley, Bernice Olson and Helen Clark.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Marian Wagner of the Falls; his brother-in-law, “Scratch”; and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
