Philomena “Minnie” Timmer, age 93, of International Falls, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Falls Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Oct. 28, 1915, at Melrose, Minn.
She moved to this area along with her family in 1921 and homesteaded a few miles south of Littlefork, Minn.
A lifelong resident of the area, Minnie worked at the paper mill and at the hospital in the kitchen. She later was employed with Falls Care Center in the laundry department.
She enjoyed bowling and dancing and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Timmer; sisters, Della Timmer and Anna Johnson; and a brother, Xavier Timmer.
Survivors include sisters, Rosa Olson of International Falls and Florentine Hornes of Clatskanie, Ore.; brother, Francis Timmer of Elma, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Interment will be at Oakley Cemetery, Littlefork, Minn.
