Quinten Robert Campbell, age 14 years, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 11, 2009, with his family by his side.
Quinten was born Feb. 5, 1995, in Fort Frances, Ontario, but lived most of his life in Thunder Bay, Ontario and attended St. Ann’s School and Pope John Paul II.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He loved sports. He was involved with hockey, baseball and tae kwon do and his favorite teams were the Calgary Flames and the Dallas Cowboys/Cowgirls. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.
With all of his interest, one of the most important was Camp Quality. Being able to spend time at camp was always a highlight for him.
Quinten was a notorious “ladies man;” he had his harem in every town, and made friends easily wherever he went.
Quinten will be sadly missed by his mother, Dana Gaudreau-Zahn; father, Robert Campbell (Jody Jackson); sister, Brittany Zahn; grandparents, Sharon and Bob Walker of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Mike and Teresa Zahn of the Falls; great-grandmother, LaVerne Geer of the Falls; aunts and uncles, Nikki (Peter) McCourt, Sarah (Trevor) Shurvell, Daniel Walker of Thunder Bay, Mike Zahn, Jeffrey Zahn, Jessica Zahn, Jennifer Nelson, Mary and Duane Fish, David Geer and family, Poncho and Linda Zahn and family, Bev and Stan Long; cousins, Lauren and Kelsey McCourt, Ella Shurvell (yet to arrive), of Thunder Bay, Troy, Liz, Shanna and Taylor Fish, Rob, Crystal, Bailey and Cole Fish, D.J., Jamie, Kaili and Ryan Fish; Godparents, Lee-Ann Skirving and Robert Fish; special friend, Caitlyn Pascoe; and his dog, “Shadow.”
He was predeceased by his great-grandpa, Daniel Geer; Nana, Leona Mae Campbell; and uncles, Michael Geer, Daniel Campbell and Don McCullough.
Family and friends gathered Monday, June 15, at St. Agnes R.C. Church for the funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m., celebrated by Fr. James Panikulam.
Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14, with Vigil offered at 2 at St. Agnes R.C. Church.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
If friends so desire, memorial donations made to Camp Quality or to the Ronald McDonald House, Winnipeg, Manitoba, would be greatly appreciated.
