Ralph Lavern Grill, age 79, of International Falls, Minn., died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, Minn.
He was born June 7, 1929, at Roosevelt, Minn., to Vern and Christine (Engstrom) Grill; the youngest of six children.
Ralph was united to the former Elaine Muirhead on April 8, 1952, at Roosevelt.
In his early years, Ralph worked road construction in western Minnesota and North Dakota. He began working at Mando in September of 1952 and retired from Boise as a beater room operator in August of 1982.
Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on snow machines and motorcycles.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold, Reuben, Elmer, Ardell and Everett; and one son, Ricky in 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elaine Grill; sons; Rodney (Kyle) of International Falls, Harley (fiancé Sue) and Terry (Dawn), both of Ray, Minn., and Robin of Greenbush, Minn.; grandchildren, Stacey (David) Stallard of International Falls, Shelley (Victor) Krause of International Falls, Kristin Grill of Duluth, Minn., Ryan Grill of Salol, Minn., Candi (Chad) Monsrud of Roseau, Minn., Michelle (Brian) Krall of International Falls, Danielle (friend Josh) Grill of Greenbush, Minn., and Bryce Arola of Tennessee; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Evangelical Covenant Church, International Falls.
