Richard Willis Titus, of International Falls, Minn., died at his home on Friday, July 25, 2008. He was 86 years of age.
Richard was born Aug. 25, 1921, in International Falls, Minn., and was a lifelong resident of the Falls.
He was united in marriage to Genevieve (Erickson) Titus-Handley for 35 years and was a devoted friend and companion of Elizabeth (Betty) Ericson for over 30 years.
Richard worked for Boise Cascade as a machine tender for over 42 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid trapper, a bush pilot and a great golfer. He liked to mount deer horns and was an impressive “doodler,” so much so, his doodling has recently been made into some beautiful quilts. Rich could “Fix Anything” and he loved his children and grandchildren very much. In recent years he was “grandpa” to Betty’s grandkids including Sarah and Zach Manka of the Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George B. Titus and Hazel B. (Smith) Titus; brothers, Donald, Calvin and Norman Titus; and his sister, Helen.
Richard is survived and will be missed by his son, Maurice Richard Titus of Nampa, Idaho; daughters, Pamela (Titus) Hanson of International Falls, Minn. and Nancy (Titus) Francis of Rogers, Ark.; along with his six grandchildren, Scott, Leah, Kurt, Leslie, Megan and Britton; and his four great-grandchildren.
Following Richard’s wishes, no funeral service are scheduled at this time.
