Robert “Bob” Youso, 75, Moose Lake, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
He was born in International Falls on April 18, 1933 to Frank and Mary Youso. Bob attended St. Thomas Elementary and later graduated in 1951 from Falls High School where he played football and basketball.
He entered the Navy where he served from 1951 until 1955 and was a Korean War Veteran stationed Okinawa, Japan.

On Aug. 18, 1956, Bob married Lynn Odland in Detroit Lakes.
After graduating from Concordia College, they moved to Moose Lake where Bob began his teaching and coaching career. He taught Social Studies, History, and Physical Education for over 32 years at Moose Lake High School where he also coached and was the athletic director retiring in 1991. He was Head Football Coach, Head Girls Basketball Coach, Golf Coach, Track Coach, and worked with Little League Baseball. He was honored as the Athletic Director of the Year for Region 7A in 1989-1990 and received his “200” Wins Football Award in 1989. In 1990, Bob was inducted into the Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
He loved to hunt, fish, and especially liked his many years of vacationing and fishing in Aruba. Bob was especially proud of being able to coach all three of his children. He continued to watch them grow up, get married, and give him nine wonderful grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
